Best Buds - Senior Portraits from Sarah Petty Photography Springfield IL

These guys. What a fun day in the studio this was! They are from a small town in central Illinois and have been best friends for years. Their genius moms decided to send them together for senior portraits. What more to make you bust up laughing then your friend who knows about every goofy thing you've ever done! One thing we know is no matter where life takes these two, they will always remember their high school days together.

Valentine's Day is upon us, and while we love our sweeties, we have a simple family Valentine's Day idea that ANYONE can do!  My family did it last year and I'm excited to do it again.  Get some pink and red papers and cut out a bunch of hearts.  You can trace some and have your kiddos practice cutting with safety scissors.  Starting on February 1st through Valentine's Day, have each family member jot down something they love about each other family member on separate hearts.  They can just be small little things!  Tape them to each persons bedroom door.  Enjoy feeling the love!

"There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face." - Ben WilliamsWe feel like this little guy might disagree!  This is just one image from a recent session with a little boy and his pup.  This family has brought in all three children when they were the age of one, and we've photographed them all with their dog Jackson.  They have three framed series of these images displayed together in their home.  What a fun way to celebrate the kids, human or doggy, over the years!

Besides our NEW blog, here's another one of our favorites things recently...this dress!  We've had a few senior girls bring it in this summer and so far we've found that is looks beautiful in all the different places we've shot it.  Love the bright colors and unique style.  Don't be afraid to bring it colorful patterned pieces for your session!
